CHARANGA MUSIC

Cuban Charanga bands originated from 19th century French orchestras called Charanga Francesas. Charanga Francesas developed in the New World in the aftermath of the forced migration of French landowners and Haitian slaves from Haiti to Cuba after the Haitian war for independence. Later Charanga Francesas became known simply as Charangas. Over the years, Charanga’s have transformed their instrumentation and musical styles in response to changing popular musical tastes. The original large tympanis were replaced by the more portable, versatile "pailas criollas". The "pailas criollas" were later replaced by the timbales and guiro. Towards the end of the 1880s the charangas replaced the clarinet with the five hole ebony flute. A critical aspect of the charanga sound emerged when in 1899 the piano was added. Another event of in the evolution of charanga was the introduction of the tumbadora (a drum used largely by the conjuntos that played sons) in the 1940’s. The violins, the flute and the piano dominated the various sections and the quality of the solo performances and henceforth acquired special importance.

Charangas are best known for playing dance music called danzon. The origins of the Danzón lie in the Cuban and French contradanza of the 19th century. Within a few years Danzón became so popular (especially among middle class Cubans) that by the early 20th century Danzón was considered Cuba's national dance.

Subsequently composers and arrangers incorporated other Cuban music forms into their danzones. The introduction of afrocuban influences into the charanga sound helped increase its popularity among all Cubans in middle and upper class social circles.

Karamelo Santo present “La Gente Arriba” in Niceto Club with an international set.

After a warm eurotour, where Karamelo Santo stood out for being touch in big stages of the best summer festivals as the south side Fest. in the city of Neuhausen, the hurricane Fest. in the city of Scheesset, before approximately 15.000 persons in both festivals, having recorded his new video clip! El ritmo indecente!, in the city of Barcelona, and to have covered several Spanish stages, giving for the tour completed in the festival of The bisbal, in the city of the same name, Karamelo santo is back in Argentina to present his new disk “ La gente Arriba”, initiating the presentations in the ground that sow them being born, Mendoza

They wanted to be able to return to the people the support that from a beginning they have drunk to them, offering them the first show in Argentina to his return.

The show was realized in the greak theather of san martins city, next to Mendoza capital, before approximately 4000 persons, in a familiar ambience, where they shared stage with three local bands, Fuera de tiempo, hormigas negras y cogollo, giving a strong quota of good energy, and a show of high quality, were it was possible to listened topics of the new disc as well as an anthology of the classic everlasting ones. This show was realized also to maternal benefit of the infantile dining rooms of the city, and they collected 5000kg of not perishable foods.

After this, Karamelo Santo plays at Niceto club, in the city of Buenos Aires(July 22/23) in front of 2.000 persons, consolidating his call of Buenos Aires and continuing with the national presentation of his new disc " La Gente Arriba ".

The Saturday show began at 21:30 hs with the participation of the winning band of the Bombing of the Demo, "Caña de Azucar (Sugar-cane) ", which obtained more than 400 votes in Day tripper of Rock & Pop, followed by a performance of high impact in hands of " Taming to the Donkey " with 17 actors between the public. At 22:15 hs. the stage of Niceto Club received Karamelo Santo that initiated the concert with " The Indecent Rhythm ", The song that opens the new disc and the second cut of diffusion, transmitting a big energy. Clinging to the opening they touched classic songs of the discography karamelera, beginning for " Black (Negro) " and continuing for " The official Dance (El baile Oficial) ", " The Culprit (El reo)", " I am Cuyano (Soy cuyano) " and "Never (Nunca)". Returning to the new disc, there sounded the chords of " The Gannet ( El Alcatraz)", traditional folklore that the band touched with big feeling and that the people received enthusiastically, chorusing the letter and dancing to the rhythm of this Peruvian celebration.

The first set culminated with the cover version of "The Clash" and the classic one " La Kulebra " that made dance and move the people crowning the party. In the bises different climates were lived, beginning for a moment more relaxed with " Joint ", " Barajas " and " What to Wonderful World ", followed by "Santa Maria", " Guerrillero ", "Skalibur" and " Los Guachos " that armed a frenetic pogo and the participation of Mono and Mafia of Kapanga in " Black ", closing the show spent the midnight.

On Sunday Karamelo Santo repeated the same musical set initiating the recital at 7 p.m. hs. for a more juvenile public supporting the energy and force of the show of the previous night.

In these concerts Karamelo Santo proved his international level, fruit of intense work in the almost 30 dates of his fifth Tour European 2006.

The story started in spring 2003 during the Ska-p italian tour… Bambole di pezza (Rag dolls) were the support act, and during the tour Joxemi and Michela fall in love… well this is not properly a punk rock story, but this is how the story was!After few months Micky quit Bambole di Pezza because she wasn’t anymore on the same view of the band.Joxemi and Micky start rehearsing songs that are not “in line” with their original projects and in the march 2004 “Gridalo” was released on Incontrolable Records, the band was born and the name is “NO RELAX” The songs talk about social, violence on pets, pollution, and some more introspective and emotive theme. The music style is punk Rock with influences like swing, Reggae a la Clash, OI, Hardcore and some ’50 rock’n’roll. They start touring in the day offs of the SKAP world tour. In the february 2005 SKAP split off, NO RELAX now are the band of Joxemi and Micky.In September 2005 they start composing songs for the new album, and now MAD BUTCHER give them the chance to release the album in GERMANY!“Virus de rebeliòn” themes are various, the main idea is to be always active.The musici is always punk rock, but there are irish punk and rock’n’roll influences, there is also a jazz punk instrumental song! This is their second album (release also in Italian, just for that territory) No relax are Joxemi (SKA-P guitar player) and Micky (formerly singer of Bambole di pezza, an all female combo, well-known in Italy), now that they’re free from their original projects, they can put all their energy and enthusiam playing punk rock music! 'Virus de Rebeliòn' contains 13 songs of genuine and raw punkrock, with an amazing spanish cover of "Rock’n’roll radio" (Ramones)

Die Geschichte der Band beginnt in Italien im Frühling 2003 während der Tour zweier Bands zum einen Ska-P zum anderen B.D.P. auf der sich Joxemi und Micky kennenlernten. Micky verließ ihre Band jedoch aufgrund größerer Meinungsverschiedenheiten. Die beiden gründeten ein neues Projekt das sehrbald den Namen "No Relax" trug und im März 2004 erschien schon die erste eigene Cd "Gridalo!" welche auf dem eigenen Laben "Incontrolable Records" veröffentlicht wurde. Ihre Texte handelten von vielerlei Dingen von Sozialen, wie von Persönlichen oder dem Kampf für die Rechte der Tiere. Die Musik selbst war ein bunter Mix auf Punk-Rock, Swing, Reggae und einer großen Portion Rock'n'Roll. Die Zeit jedoch war knapp bemessen da Joxemi immernoch bei Ska-P spielte und so konnten 2004 ~30 Konzerte in Spanien und Italien realisiert werden. Im Februar 2005 entschieden sich Ska-P dazu eine Pause einzulegen und No Relax starte voll durch und es wurde eine Neue CD Aufgenommen im September 2005. Am 27. Februar 2006 wurde "VIRUS DE REBELLION" veröffentlicht, in zwei Versionen. Eine in Italienisch und eine in Castilian um so möglichst viele Leute mit der Musik zu erreichen. Die Musik der zweiten CD kann man im groben als "Punk-Rock" bezeichen jedoch diesmal auch mit einflüssen des "Irish-Punk" und die schon im ersten Album zu hörenden Einflüsse wurden beibehalten. Im Moment wird die Tour zu dieser neuen CD geplant die sie diesmal nach Spanien, Italien, Frankreich, Deutschland und in die Schweitz führen wird .

Gerne künden wir das „Antifascist Festival“ vom 4.-6. August 2006 in Bern an. In der Grossen Halle der Reitschule werden Freitag 4.8. und Samstag 5.8. zwei Nächte lang Bands aus dem In- und Ausland mit politischem Hintergrund aus dem Hip-Hop, Ragga, Punk und Street-Punk Spektrum gehörig Stimmung machen. Bars und Essstände sorgen für Verpflegung, zudem werden wir jeweils mittags eine Vokü (Volx Küche) organisieren, damit auch mit kleinem Budget der Magen nicht leer bleibt. Damit nach durchgetanzter Nacht niemand auf der Strasse liegen bleibt, wird im Hirschenpark (nicht zu verwechseln mit dem Hirschengraben) eine Campierfläche eingerichtet. Auch politisch soll das Festival seinem Namen gerecht werden, so sollen diverse Infoveranstaltungen, Filme und Infostände das Festival säumen. Uns gegenüber wurde bereits angekündigt, auf Anfang August hin eine „Themenausstellung Faschismus“ zu lancieren. Weitere Infos zum Programm findet Ihr unter www.antifafestival.ch.

Einige Worte zu uns und unseren Beweggründen dieses Festival zu veranstalten: Aus eigener Erfahrung mussten wir mit Bedauern feststellen, dass es in letzter Zeit aus verschieden Gründen (Repression, zunehmend unpolitische gewaltfreudige MitläuferInnen an antifaschistischen Aktionen etc.) schwieriger geworden ist mit unseren Anliegen glaubhaft nach aussen zu treten. So haben wir uns entschieden, nun zu versuchen in eine andere Richtung zu gehen. Wir verstehen das alleinige Vorhandensein dieses Festivals als eine lautstarke Äusserung gegen Rassismus, Faschismus und Unterdrückung und als Ausdruck nach dem Wunsch einer anderen, solidarischen Gesellschaft! Somit verstehen wir dieses Festival als einen Teil des alltäglichen antifaschistischen Kampfes. Neben Spass, welcher nicht zu kurz kommen darf, wollen wir Raum bieten für Austausch, Zusammensein und Vernetzung regionaler wie überregionaler antifaschistischer Strukturen. Das „Antifascist Festival“ ist keine profitorientierte Veranstaltung und verzichtet auf jegliche Sponsoren- oder Werbegelder. Für uns ist es wichtig, alles so günstig wie möglich anzubieten, daher auch die tiefen Eintrittpreise von 30.- fürs Wochenende, 15.- für Freitag und 20.- für Samstag.

Vorne weg, eine erste Sitzung mit der Stadtpolizei Bern hat bereits stattgefunden und die Bewilligung für den Hirschenpark wurde von der Stadt erteilt.

Voici enfin des news de Train's Tone !!!!

Et pour le coup il y a du nouveau, en effet les Train's Tone ont enregistré enfin leur deuxième album durant ce très chaud mois de juin 2006 qui nous a rappelé la bonne vieille canicule subie lors du premier album (en 2003)... décidement, les sessions se font sous le signe de la chaleur et c'est tant mieux.... (c'est sûrement un signe dirons certains !!!!) Enfin voilà 15 nouveaux titres dont un bons nombre inédits sur scène !!!! Le tout mis en boite par le très patient et très vénérable Mister Antoine Gonzales à Bordeaux dans la petite cave du 27, rue Labirat chez nous à la maison. Une démo de 4 titres pré-mixée sera disponible dès début juillet pour les organisateurs et les professionnelles du spectacles histoire de vous donner une idée du nouveau cru... DEMANDAMOS A INSPECTOR Y CONVOCAMOS A LOS MEDIOS DE COMUNICACION

Por medio de la presente, nos permitimos informarles acerca de la demanda laboral en contra del Sr. Jesús Arriaga Moreno “El Padrino” (Fundador, Saxofonista, administrador y representante legal del grupo INSPECTOR), hecha por nosotros, Arnoldo Ortega Tobías “LoLo” – Bajista y Alejandro Ortega Tobías “RoJo” – Guitarrista.

La demanda inicia el 28 de Noviembre del 2005, 15 días después del despido injustificado que estamos reclamando y que ocurrió el día 13 de Noviembre del 2005, inmediatamente después de haber ofrecido un concierto en la Explanada de los Héroes de la Macroplaza de la ciudad de Monterrey, N.L., México, en un evento realizado junto con la agrupación “La Maldita Vecindad y los hijos del 5to. Patio”. Terminando tal evento se nos comunicó por voz del fundador y representantes del grupo INSPECTOR, que ya no pertenecíamos a tal agrupación.

A lo largo de 10 años que tuvimos de trayectoria en INSPECTOR, se nos desviaba gran parte de nuestro sueldo para comprar equipo de audio que aún utiliza la agrupación y que se nos negó tenerlo de regreso luego que fuimos despedidos sin justificación alguna.

Y en esta demanda exigimos los derechos que nos corresponden como lo marca la ley del trabajo en nuestro país.

El próximo 16 de Agosto del 2006 a partir de las 8:00am comienza la “PRUEBA CONFESIONAL” hacia ambas partes en la Junta de Conciliación y Arbitraje en Monterrey, N.L. (dirección: Alejandro de Humboldt No. 800 Pte. Centro de la ciudad de Monterrey, N.L.) y estaremos frente a frente con el Sr. Jesús Arriaga Moreno “El Padrino”, y el Sr. Jaime González González “Jimmy”, para “resolver” si existía una relación laboral entre nosotros así como una dependencia económica y por primera vez en 8 meses que lleva este proceso, estaremos de frente para aclarar las cosas ante la ley. Ya se terminaron los recursos para evadirnos y esperamos ahora si, continuar con el caso.

Los demandados y sus abogados, niegan que existía relación laboral de alguna manera entre nosotros, por eso los invitamos a cubrir esta nota y estamos a su disposición para mostrarles toda la documentación hasta la fecha así como demás pruebas. Y esperamos una vez más contar con su apoyo para que se haga justicia por parte de nuestra autoridad y el público que nos seguía se entere de la verdad.
