Le Club Quetzal fête cette année, ses 10 ans d'action auprès des enfants du Guatémala, 10 ans de rencontres, d'émotions et d'enthousiasme toujours intact, 10 ans de bonheur, de travail acharné et d'envie de continuer, encore et encore.

Nous serions heureux de vous compter parmi les nôtres les 2 et 3 mai, à l'Auberge Landaise où se dérouleront diverses manifestations en présence d'une femme exceptionnelle, Rigoberta Menchu Tum, guatémaltèque, Prix Nobel de la Paix 1992, et qui nous fait l'immense honneur d'être avec nous à cette occasion.

Nous travaillons en étroite collaboration avec sa Fondation depuis 2003 et recevons sa présence comme une reconnaissance du travail accompli sur le terrain par le Club Quetzal. Elle tiendra une conférence samedi 3 mai, à 15h et nous espérons que vous serez nombreux à vivre ce moment rare avec nous.

Durant ces deux jours de fête, la musique sera bien sûr présente, d'abord grâce la la chanteuse argentine, Barbara Luna, notre marraine de coeur(concert vendredi 2 à 20h30) et enfin, Mouss et Hakim (les frères du groupe Zebda) et leur groupe « Origines Contrôlées » se produiront samedi 3 à 22h. Leur présence à tous est un soutien au combat que nous menons contre le racisme, les inégalités, l'obscurantisme, au Guatémala comme ici et ailleurs...

Following a six-year hiatus, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, one of the world's most important rock bands, have announced an international reunion tour and a new album. Beginning in November, they will perform more than fifty shows across Latin America, the United States and Europe through the end of the year and early 2009. Fans should expect a revitalized show filled with the classic hits and plenty of new surprises.

The Cadillacs will launch the tour at the 53,000-capacity Foro Sol Stadium in Mexico City, where the Argentine band played its last show back in 2002. The tour will also include River Plate Stadium in their hometown of Buenos Aires. The group is currently rehearsing and preparing for a new album.

Widely-recognized for their groundbreaking fusion of ska, rock, tropical, punk, reggae and Latin rhythms, the Cadillacs have sold millions of records worldwide. They became stars in Argentina throughout the '80s before propelling the Latin rock genre into the international spotlight in the '90s. Their genre-bending masterpiece 'Fabulosos Calavera' won the Grammys' first award for "Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album" in 1998. The Los Angeles Times described the album at the time as the "Sgt. Pepper of the Rock en Espanol movement".

Songs like "Matador" and "Mal Bicho" were anthems for a generation and inspired thousands of youth and musicians across the globe. The Fabuloso Cadillacs' reputation led to collaborations with a variety of stars including Mick Jones (of The Clash), Deborah Harry (Blondie), Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth (of the Talking Heads), Fishbone, Celia Cruz and Ruben Blades. Global hit "Matador" was even handpicked by actor John Cusack for the platinum-selling soundtrack to the film Grosse Point Blank.

The Buenos Aires daily newspaper, La Nacion, declared "While 2007 was the year of Soda Stereo, 2008 will surely be the year of the Cadillacs".
